JRS in Helsking with Jarkko Tonti, International Treasurer of PEN International and Sirpa Kähkönen, President of Finnish PEN. Tomorrow they will meet with Erik Lundberg, Head of the Unit for Human Rights Policy, Pekka Haavisto, Minister for International Development of the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Finnish PEN members.
JRS was present in Stockholm for the Russian/Ukraine PEN International conference Ludmila Ulitskaya representing Russian PEN and Aleksandra Hnatiuk representing Ukrainian PEN gathered to affirm their unity against the waves of propaganda destroying the language of public discussion in their countries.
JRS will head the delegation of PEN to Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan before the International Congress of PEN September 29-October 2 with the Secretary Takeaki Hori Intl, Director Exec Carles Torner, Jena Patel Congress Director and Member of the International Board of Marketa Hejkalová.
